Description:
A typical hybrid technology uses a drive mechanism (usually an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic motor) to rotate a shaft with one or more impellers.
An ultrasonic homogenizer (or "ultrasonic stirrer") involves inserting the tool head into the sample. The tool head vibrates rapidly, thereby transferring its ultrasonic energy to the sample. Unlike energy diffusion, the particles around the tool head will be impacted by a large amount of energy. Air bubbles form and collapse in the surrounding solution, generating shear waves and shock waves. The high local strength of the tool head means that the ultrasonic treatment process is more effective than in an ultrasonic water bath. This makes the ultrasonic homogenizer an ideal choice for reducing particle size and cell disruption. A small particle size can be achieved through a short processing time. Applications include disrupting suspended cells, emulsifying and dispersing nanoparticles.

Typical applications of ultrasonic sonochemistry include ultrasonic homogenization, phacoemulsification, ultrasonic dispersion, depolymerization and wet grinding (particle size reduction), cell disruption and disintegration, extraction, degassing, and sonochemical processes;
Ultrasonic dispersion does not require the use of emulsifiers. In many cases, the diameter of the dispersed particles can reach 1μm or less. It can be carried out between solid, liquid, and gas phases of the same substance, or between different solids, liquids and gases. It has been widely used in food sample detection and analysis, preparation of nanomaterials, etc.
